At a Special Board meeting held on April 8, 2025, the Renfrew County District School Board (RCDSB) appointed Roger Clarke as the new Trustee, representing Whitewater Region and Admaston/Bromley Townships. This appointment follows the passing of Trustee Dave Dobson, whose dedication and service left a lasting impact on the RCDSB community.

Mr. Clarke, who will be formally sworn in at an upcoming Board meeting, brings a deep understanding of public education and a strong commitment to student success, having served the RCDSB for more than three decades. He is well known to the school board community, having held the role of Director of Education for eight years before retiring in 2017.
"Roger's extensive experience, deep roots in the community, and lifelong dedication to public education make him a valuable addition to the Board of Trustees," said Chair Leo Boland. "We are confident his leadership will support and uplift the students, staff, and families of Renfrew County."
Mr. Clarke's 33-year career in education spanned classroom teaching, school leadership, and system-wide administration. His focus on people, programs, and progress helped shape an inclusive and forward-thinking educational culture within the RCDSB. From supporting early learners and championing special education, to celebrating the arts and expanding skilled trades programs, Mr. Clarke's vision consistently placed student learning and well-being at the centre.
"Serving the students and communities of Renfrew County has always been a privilege," Clarke said. "I'm honoured to return in this new capacity and carry forward the important work of advocacy, governance, and supporting student achievement."
The RCDSB Board of Trustees and staff welcome Roger Clarke back and extend their sincere thanks to all applicants who expressed interest in serving their community through this important role.
