Battle River School Division (BRSD) is pleased to announce it has received confirmation of funding that will support important technology upgrades to the audiovisual control system at Bawlf School. Funding in the amount of $16,401 has been solidified following BRSD's application for this Community Initiatives Program (CIP) Project-Based Grant from the Government of Alberta.
Accompanying the good news on March 31, 2025, was a note of support from the Honourable Tanya Fir, Minister of Arts, Culture and Status of Women.
"As the Minister of Arts, Culture and Status of Women, I am extremely honoured to support the work of non-profit organizations that aim to foster healthy, vibrant communities across Alberta," stated Minister Fir in the letter of approval. "The Government of Alberta is proud to support organizations that improve the quality of life in our communities."
The investment will allow for modernization of the Bawlf School audiovisual control system in the gymnasium. This upgrade will improve the technological infrastructure of the audiovisual system, providing operational efficiency, quality content, and reliability for the use of multimedia presentations, scorekeeping and community event hosting.
The new system will also support educational programs and student leadership opportunities. It will simplify audiovisual operations and eliminate technical issues while advancing productivity.
BRSD extends its appreciation to the Government of Alberta and to MLA Jackie Lovely, Camrose Constituency, for continued support of local educational initiatives.
"We are grateful for this funding, which will help us modernize the technology at Bawlf School," said BRSD Secretary-Treasurer Imogene Walsh. "This upgrade will positively impact students, staff, and the overall school community."
