Lauren Frandle appointed Principal at Westmount School

Please join us in congratulating Ms. Lauren Frandle as she moves into a new leadership opportunity as Principal of Westmount School effective August 22, 2025. 

As an accomplished teacher and school leader, Ms. Frandle brings significant experience and demonstrated strengths in K-9 instructional leadership, effective relationships and communication, and the capacity to work with staff and families to collaboratively support students with diverse learning needs. Leading with integrity, respect, and honesty, Lauren has established strong relationships with staff, students, and parents, fostering an environment of genuine trust and open communication. Lauren's commitment to creating a safe, caring, and welcoming school culture, where mental health and wellness are prioritized, will undoubtedly foster a sense of belonging and resilience among all members of the Westmount School community.

I am honoured to step into the principal role at Westmount School, a community that nurtures growth, celebrates diversity, and ensures success for all. 

Ms. Frandle's visionary leadership is evident through her dedication to fostering literacy and numeracy excellence and ensuring the school learning environment addresses the unique needs of children and adolescents in today's ever-changing world. By collaborating with educational stakeholders, Lauren has successfully designed and implemented a vision that supports and celebrates each child's academic success.

Ms. Frandle's school leadership experience includes her positions as Vice-Principal of both Heritage Heights (K-9) 2013-2023 and Meadow Ridge School (K-9) 2023-2025.  Lauren holds a Master of Education (Literacy) from the University of Lethbridge, a Certificate in Advanced Leadership Program -- National Excellence in School Leadership Initiative, A Bachelor of Education from the University of Lethbridge, and a Bachelor of Arts (English and Canadian History) from the University of Calgary.  Ms. Frandle was granted her Alberta Leadership Certificate in 2019. 

As she prepares to join the team at Westmount School Lauren shares, "I am honoured to step into the principal role at Westmount School, a community that nurtures growth, celebrates diversity, and ensures success for all. Schools thrive when relationships are strong, voices are heard, and every member feels valued and empowered. As a new member of the Wolf Pack, I am excited to be part of a dynamic and collaborative environment where learning flourishes, ideas are embraced, and every member of our school community feels a true sense of belonging. 

It has been a true privilege to be part of the vibrant Meadow Ridge School community, a community that celebrates the 3Bs being our best, ensuring others belong, and making things better than we found them. I am grateful for the opportunity to have learned and grown alongside all of you. As I step into a new chapter, I carry with me the memories, wisdom, and relationships that have made this journey so meaningful".
