It is important to the Waterloo Region District School Board (WRDSB) to stay connected with students, staff, families and caregivers. We value accessible and transparent communication and use many different methods to engage with the WRDSB community, including the use of social media.
As the social media landscape is ever-changing, we are always assessing the value of the channels we use to help us inform and engage the families and caregivers we serve. After careful consideration, the WRDSB has decided that as of April 25, 2025, the WRDSB will no longer post content on X/Twitter.
Due to the application of policies, changes in community safety features and use of artificial intelligence (AI) on the Twitter/X platform, WRDSB is no longer using X/Twitter as a communication channel. Our priority is the safety and well-being of our students, staff, families and caregivers, as well as fostering a community of belonging and support for students. The WRDSB X/Twitter account will remain temporarily active to assist with the transition and redirect visitors to the WRDSB website. No new content will be posted.
Finding Us on Social Media
Moving forward, news and announcements will be shared on the Board website (www.wrdsb.ca) and our official social media channels:
Stay Engaged with Us
Websites
We encourage you to stay engaged with us through subscribing to the WRDSB and your school websites. At the bottom of all WRDSB websites, you can add your email address to subscribe and receive notifications of news, announcements or emergency information posted to that page sent directly to your inbox. You must subscribe to each site individually to receive updates.
School-Day
WRDSB uses School-Day to communicate with families and caregivers about important school news, updates and events. Families and caregivers may receive electronic communication from both the WRDSB and their child's school via School-Day.
If you need to speak with your child's teacher or school administrator, please contact them directly as School-Day only supports one-way communication from the school/teacher to families and caregivers.
Process for Sharing Your Concerns
As partners in your child's education, we want to hear from you. Parents and caregivers are encouraged to reach out to their child's educator or school to discuss any questions or concerns. We are committed to working together to best support your student.
