Thames Valley District School Board (TVDSB) is pleased to announce a donation of $229,150 to the United Way agencies of Elgin Middlesex and Oxford.
Donations from TVDSB students and staff were contributed as part of the 2024 campaign, which wrapped up last November.
Representatives from United Way agencies for Elgin Middlesex and Oxford accept a donation of $229,150 from the Thames Valley District School Board at a Board of Trustees meeting on April 22.
"For many people in our area, the programs funded by the United Way are life changing. We are thankful for our partnership with United Way and the work they do in our school communities," said Bill Tucker, TVDSB Interim Director of Education.
For decades, TVDSB has run school and board events to raise funds for the United Way.
Every year, TVDSB staff contribute to the United Way campaign through payroll deduction, knowing that those dollars will go to help needy families in their local community. Special events for staff and students are a big part of the United Way campaign and are often a highlight of the return to school each Fall.
TVDSB would like to thank the many site champions, staff and students for their enthusiastic commitment to this year's campaign. The donations will support the important and impactful work of the two United Way organizations in TVDSB Communities.
