The Algonquin & Lakeshore Catholic District School Board congratulates Jouslynn, a student at St. Francis of Assisi Catholic School, on an outstanding achievement at the Knights of Columbus Free Throw Championship.

On March 1, 2025, Jouslynn won the free throw regional round in Cornwall against students from four Catholic schools in the local Knights of Columbus district: ALCDSB's St. Francis of Assisi, St. Martha, Holy Name, and Catholic District School Board of Eastern Ontario's St. Joseph Catholic School in Gananoque.
Her performance earned her second place in Ontario among all girls born in 2011. More than 1,500 students in her age group competed, representing over 100 councils across the province.
To celebrate her success, staff and students at St. Francis of Assisi gathered for a school-wide assembly, where representatives, Paul Coulter and Robert Charest, from Knights of Columbus Council #11886 presented Jouslynn with a $250 Sport Chek gift card.
This year marked the return of the Knights of Columbus regional Free Throw Championship. Its first event since 2019. The competition, which began in 1972, encourages sportsmanship and healthy competition among students aged 9-14.
Honourable mentions: Brothers Evan and Tyson from St. Genevieve Catholic School also secured second place in their respective age groups at the regional level.
