From the gym at Capital Taekwondo to a global competition in Dubai, Nikola Samardzik, a Grade 8 student at St. Mother Teresa School, has shown what dedication, discipline, and community support can achieve.

Nikola recently earned a silver medal for Canada at the World Taekwondo Cadet Championships a remarkable follow-up to the gold he won at the Pan American Games in Mexico this spring. With his father, Radomir, as his coach, and the support of his mother and two younger brothers, Nikola's journey is a genuine family effort and a powerful example of what happens when collaboration, commitment, and character come together.
His story reflects the kind of Deep Learning we nurture in OCSB schools, where students build resilience, leadership, and a sense of global citizenship alongside academic success. Nikola's ability to perform under pressure, think critically, and stay grounded in his values makes him a standout.
As a Catholic school community, we celebrate students like Nikola who open doors through hard work, build bridges through sport, and inspire new beginnings, from our classrooms to the world stage.
Congratulations, Nikola! Your St. Mother Teresa and OCSB family are cheering for you.
