The Conseil scolaire du Nord-Ouest (CSNO) is proud to announce the launch of its new "Voie des métiers" (Trades Pathways) scholarship, enhancing its scholarship program for graduating students. This initiative reflects the CSNO's commitment to valuing all educational pathways and supporting students in achieving professional success.
Recognizing Diverse Pathways
This new scholarship acknowledges and encourages students who choose to pursue training in skilled trades.
"We recognize the vital role skilled trades play in our economy and society, and that success doesn't always come in the form of a university degree," says Anita Anctil, Chair of the Board. "This scholarship reflects our commitment to supporting all of our graduates, no matter which path they choose for their professional future."
The "Voie des métiers" scholarship is available to CSNO's 2025 graduates and details of the new scholarship can be found on the CSNO Web site (in French). Eligibility criteria for the "Voie des métiers" scholarship, being accepted into a post-secondary program leading to a certificate or technical training in a trade (excluding university bachelor's degrees).
CSNO's scholarship program now celebrates its graduates pursuing post-secondary education in three distinct ways:
- "Excellence scolaire" Scholarship: Rewards outstanding academic performance
- "Actifs et fiers" Scholarship: Recognizes community involvement and student leadership
- "Voie des métiers" Scholarship: Supports students pursuing vocational and technical training
By creating this new scholarship, CSNO continues its mission of supporting students in the pursuit of their dreams - whether academic or technical - by valuing each individual's potential. This initiative also encourages our youth to consider rewarding careers in the trades while maintaining their cultural and linguistic pride.
