Senator Joyce Fairbairn Middle School has finished in first place in the 2025 CBC Music Class Challenge in the Junior Instrumental category.
Fairbairn performed Takin' Care of Christmas, by Randy Bachman and Beverley Mahood, to earn top spot.
The school will receive $2,500 in music instruments from MusiCounts for the first-place finish.
But that was not the only honour the school received through the challenge, as Fairbairn also took second place in the Culture Passion Prize category, which was open to all grades. Fairbairn earned second for the school's performance of Life Is, by Arkells.
Fairbairn will take home a plaque for the second-place finish in the Culture Passion category.
