Preston High School (PHS) reignited the excitement of its popular Inside Ride event, uniting students, staff and the community in a high-energy indoor cycling challenge. The school-wide event not only promotes wellness and teamwork, but also raises funds for the Canadian Cancer Society.

This is the first event since the COVID-19 pandemic and the spirit of community is back in full force at PHS. As a school of approximately 800 students, they were incredibly proud to see more than 150 students and staff take part in this high-energy, meaningful event.
The gym was alive with music, cheering and movement as 24 teams of six riders each took turns cycling for ten minutes in an exciting one-hour relay. The energy was electric, and it didn't stay contained to the gym; it flowed through the halls of the school, reminding everyone what it feels like to come together for a powerful cause. Many teams coordinated outfits and costumes to stand out and show their support and dedication to the ride.
This was more than just a fundraiser. Students and staff listened to heartfelt, emotional messages from PHS students, staff, and community members who have battled or are currently facing cancer. These moments of vulnerability and strength set the tone for a day filled with purpose and solidarity.
The celebration didn't stop there. With more than 60 raffle prizes donated by generous local businesses, the excitement and community support was palpable. Awards were provided for Best Costume, Best Spirit, Most Funds Raised, and Furthest Distance Ridden, sparking friendly competition and tons of fun.
Together, the Preston community raised more than $18,000 for the Canadian Cancer Society. It's a remarkable achievement that showcases the heart and strength of the school and support of the community.
We're proud to share that Inside Ride will be a recurring event, giving these students and staff even more reasons to be Preston Proud.
