The Huron-Perth Catholic District School Board is pleased to announce the appointment of Deacon Dan McPhee as Board Chaplain, effective September 2, 2025.
Mary Helen Van Loon, Chair of the Board said: "Deacon McPhee has had a powerful impact on our local family of parishes, our schools and our community over the past few years. He is a dedicated and faith-filled leader with a heart for God, for our youth, and for service. We look forward to his guidance and input as we welcome him to our Board table as Chaplain".
Deacon Dan has a rich, multi-decade background of study and experience in the area of youth, young and middle-aged adults, and families. He has a strong history of devoted service and support to individuals, families, and community. Deacon Dan is known for his compassionate and caring approach, consistently centring Christ and the dignity of each person in his actions and words. In 2016, he entered formal discernment and formation to become a Deacon and was ordained in November of 2021.
Many members of our community will know Deacon Dan from his involvement in the community and parishes. His children attended and graduated from our Catholic schools. In recent years, he has provided ministry to some of the youth at St. Anne's Catholic Secondary School, Clinton, and is deeply invested in the well-being of our school Board and the people we serve.
Deacon Dan shared, "I am incredibly honoured and delighted to be called to serve as Chaplain for the Board. It means a great deal to me and I am eager to serve the Bishop and our Board in this role". Bishop Fabbro has assured Deacon Dan of his constant prayers and support.

"I thank our Bishop for entrusting us with a highly engaged, faith-filled, community-minded Chaplain to walk alongside us.
