The Delta School District is proud to share the first annual progress report for its Justice and Equity Action Plan.
The Justice and Equity Plan is the district's commitment to creating school environments that are safe, welcoming, and supportive for every student. The Plan focuses on eliminating unfair treatment such as racism, sexism, ableism, misogyny, and other forms of discrimination and oppression. The district understands that schools have played a part in inequality and is working to make important changes so every student can succeed.
This first annual progress report offers a transparent look at the district's journey so far - highlighting both achievements and areas where more work is still needed. It's designed to foster open dialogue within our school community, inviting honest questions, constructive feedback, and new ideas that can change the way the district moves forward.
We believe that accountability is key to progress. By sharing this report publicly, the district hopes to build trust and momentum toward a more just and equitable learning and working experience across the district.
On the district's website (https://www.deltasd.bc.ca/district/our-vision/justice-and-equity-action-plan-jeap/), you can find several documents and infographics that help explain JEAP and how it came to be.
We welcome your input on the Justice and Equity Action Plan and the first Annual Progress Report - please use the feedback form on the JEAP webpage to share your thoughts and help shape the future of equity in our schools.
Let's keep the conversation going. Together, we can create lasting change.
