Parkland School Division is pleased to announce the appointment of Mr. Jason Krefting as the new Associate Superintendent, Corporate Supports & Services, effective December 1, 2025. He will also serve as the Secretary-Treasurer to the Board of Trustees.
This appointment follows the retirement of Mr. Scott McFadyen, who has provided distinguished leadership to the Division in this role. The Board of Trustees and Division Administration extend their sincere gratitude to Mr. McFadyen who provided steady financial leadership and helped guide the Division through periods of growth, fiscal restraint, and complex change. Provincially, he was a driving force behind the establishment of the Alberta Risk Managed Insurance Consortium (ARMIC).

Corporate Supports & Services
Jason joins the Associate Superintendent team with over 25 years of combined experience in both educational as well as public-sector and private sector financial leadership. Since 2015 he has served as Director of Financial Services with Parkland School Division, overseeing the Division's budgeting, financial reporting, audit coordination and financial planning for a budget of more than $160 million dollars. His leadership has contributed to strengthening fiscal processes, enhancing transparency, and embedding collaborative practices across departments including finance, facilities and transportation services.
Prior to his tenure at Parkland, Jason served in financial roles at Cash Store Financial Services and the Katz Group/Medicine Shoppe Canada, where he gained extensive experience in key areas such as audit, corporate accounting,and strategic planning. He is a Certified Professional Accountant (CPA) and holds a Bachelor of Management from the University of Lethbridge. Jason is committed to community service and has volunteered in leadership and mentorship roles in youth sports and professional development initiatives.

Role and Responsibilities
As Associate Superintendent, Corporate Supports & Services and Secretary-Treasurer to the Board, Jason will assume responsibility for the overall management of the Division's business and financial affairs, including the departments of Financial Services, Facilities Services and Transportation Services.
