Two new child care centres in the District are taking the next steps toward welcoming children.
Through provincial funding to Burnaby Schools, construction is complete on facilities at Stoney Creek Community School and Kitchener Elementary.
Both centres now have occupancy permits. The Stoney Creek facility is further along with licensing and is expected to open this winter. Kitchener's is anticipated to be running in the spring.
In addition to District-run programs such as StrongStart BC for children who are not yet school age and their parents, Burnaby Schools has been making space for decades on its properties for high quality child care providers.
