In February, Clearview schools will again join the Great Prairie Race. A month-long challenge that gets students moving and connects classrooms across the prairies. Last year, Clearview helped the Race reach a record 36,411 km and contributed a first with Hutterite school participation. This year, we're aiming even higher.
What is the Great Prairie Race?
Inspired by former Humboldt Bronco Jacob Leicht, the Race encourages students to move 111 km in February (a nod to Jacob's number 11) while learning about other prairie communities.
How it works
Students choose their movement: walk, run, wheel, skate, snowshoe, or ski.
Classes and schools track kilometres and add them to a shared total.
Classes join virtual connections to share about their communities and learn from others.
Clearview's focus this year
-
Movement: log kilometres daily and help your school's total grow.
-
Connection: take part in virtual meet-ups to learn about cultures, places, and community stories across AB/SK/MB.
-
School updates: Each school will share how to join, track km, and connect. Watch your school's website and social channels.
