ONTARIO PUBLIC SCHOOL BOARDS' ASSOCIATION
The 2026 CSBA Trustee Gathering

February 9, 2026

This July, Canada's education leaders will gather on the traditional territories of the Lil'wat and Squamish First Nations for a transformative event on the future of public education. The CSBA 2026 Trustee Gathering on Education, Innovation and Reconciliation isn't just a conference, it's a commitment to walking together, learning from one another, and building education systems that honour every student, every community, and every voice.

The CSBA 2026 Trustee Gathering is Canada's premier K-12 public education event, bringing together school trustees, senior school district leaders, Indigenous rights holders and knowledge keepers, and education partners from across the country. For three days this July, we'll come together in beautiful Whistler, BC, to strengthen our collective leadership and deepen our commitment to public education.

This gathering honours the lands of the Lil'wat and Squamish First Nations and centres Truth and Reconciliation throughout our programming. We're creating space for Indigenous knowledge systems and governance traditions to guide our work, because reconciliation isn't an agenda item, it's how we move forward together.

From diversity, equity, and inclusion to student success and emerging issues such as artificial intelligence and climate change, today's education leaders are navigating unprecedented challenges. This gathering provides the learning, connections, and collaborative leadership needed to meet this moment with integrity and vision.

Through keynote presentations, land-based learning, Indigenous-led sessions, purposeful networking and dialogue on emerging issues, we will explore how strong, inclusive governance can transform systems, deepen relationships, and create equitable opportunities for every learner.

Featuring inspirational thought leaders such as Rick Hansen, Jody Wilson-Raybould, Susan Aglukark, and Jon Montgomery, alongside Indigenous Elders and educator leaders from across Canada, this gathering balances inspiration with practical governance learning. Every session is designed to strengthen your capacity to lead transformative change in your community.
