NLSchools Students Shine in Heritage NL Poster Contest

NLSchools is pleased to congratulate the winners of the 21st annual Heritage Places Poster Contest, which were announced this week as part of Heritage Day (February 16). More than 40 schools across Newfoundland and Labrador provided over 740 entries to the annual competition. Heritage NL, who run the event, challenge K-12 students every year to get creative, creating a piece of art showing an existing heritage place within their own communities or regions!

Congratulations to all NLSchools successful students, including:

Elementary Winner; Amanda Ned-Enwereuzo, Grade 5, Mary Queen of the World, Mount Pearl
Senior High Winner; Alyssa Byrne, Grade 12, St. Kevin's High School, Goulds.

In addition, Emily Gash (Grade 1 student, Anchor Academy. St. John's) was awarded top prize in the Primary category, while Spriha Biswas (Grade 7, Immaculate Heart of Mary, Corner Brook) received the honours for Junior High and was named the Overall Winning Submission for this year's event.

Prizes were also awarded in 5 regions. These include:
Avalon - Eva Barnes, Grade 10, Anchor Academy, St. John's;
Eastern - Brooke Peach, Grade 6, Southwest Arm Academy, Little Heart's Ease
Central - Kate Pierce, Grade 3, St. Joseph's Elementary, Harbour Breton;
Western - Lexi White, Grade 7, Corner Brook Intermediate, Corner Brook; and
Labrador - Amber Lethbridge, Grade 7, Henry Gordon Academy, Cartwright.
