On Tuesday (March 3), the Lethbridge School Division Education Centre hosted Solar Day, a professional development opportunity for staff.
The day featured solar and computer science presentations, with a focus on micro:bit technology.
An overview of classroom-ready resources and learning pathways were provided for educators, along with a quick look at the Forward EDU platform.
Hands-on activities revolving around using solar current sensors, programming and testing a sun-tracking solar panel and the collection and analysis of solar data was also covered.
Attendees also had the opportunity to recreate a micro:bit step counter using artificial intelligence assistance.
