The Niagara Catholic District School Board is pleased to share that two of our schools - St. Mary Catholic Elementary School in Niagara Falls, and Saint Paul Catholic High School - recently won first place in their respective categories in the Ontario Catholic School Trustees' Association's annual short video contest.
The winners were announced at a recent Catholic trustee seminar in Toronto. For St. Mary, this year's recognition was the third in back-to-back-to-back wins.
The short video contest was centered around the 2025 theme for Catholic Education Week, Pilgrims of Hope. Short-listed videos were voted upon by the public.
"We are extremely proud of the very outstanding videos created by staff and students at both St. Mary and Saint Paul, who clearly worked very hard on these projects," said Chair of the Board Danny Di Lorenzo. "These videos beautifully depict the power of hope and are truly inspiring. Congratulations to everyone involved in creating these videos."
Director of Education Camillo Cipriano also had high praise for the creators of both videos. "Our Catholic faith gives us one of the truly greatest gifts anyone can receive, the gift of hope," said Director Cipriano. "These videos, which include student voices and the addition of our spiritual shepherd, Bishop Bergie, illustrate how important this gift is to us all, particularly in an increasingly complicated world. On behalf of the entire Niagara Catholic District School Board, congratulations to both St. Mary and Saint Paul on their very well-deserved recognition."
