Wolf Creek Public Schools (WCPS) is pleased to announce that Melissa Rogers has been appointed Director of People Services.

Rogers currently serves as Principal of J.S. McCormick School in Lacombe and brings more than two decades of experience in education to the role. She began her teaching career in 2001 in Lethbridge as a physical education specialist, before continuing her work in Abbotsford, British Columbia. Rogers returned to central Alberta in 2012, where she joined École James S. McCormick School and has since served in several leadership roles, most recently as Assistant Principal and Principal.
Throughout her career, Rogers has been deeply committed to supporting the well-being and growth of students and staff. She has also served as the school's Wellness Champion and has been an active member of the WCPS Wellness CORE team.
"Melissa is a thoughtful leader who is deeply committed to supporting others," said Superintendent Tim De Ruyck. "Her experience as a school leader, combined with her passion for staff wellness and professional growth, will be a strong asset to our People Services team. Melissa understands that when we invest in our staff, we create the conditions for students to succeed."
Rogers holds a combined Bachelor of Arts and Bachelor of Education from the University of Lethbridge with a major in Kinesiology. She is currently completing her Master of Education in Indigenous Education through the University of British Columbia, which she expects to finish within the next four months.
"I am grateful for the opportunity to serve Wolf Creek Public Schools in this new role," said Rogers. "Supporting staff so they can grow, thrive, and feel valued is essential. I look forward to working with colleagues across the division to continue building strong, supportive workplaces for everyone in WCPS."
Rogers will commence her new role with WCPS this summer.
