Big congratulations are in order for the students at South Park Elementary School in Tsawwassen! At the 13th annual HUB Bike Awards, held on March 3, 2026, at the Vancouver Library Square Conference Centre, the school was named Top First-Time School in last year's Bike to School Week.
The award celebrates a whole-school effort. Throughout Bike to School Week, students, families, and staff embraced travelling to school by bikes and scooters. To support students, the school announced bike safety tips and provided guidance on planning safe routes.
Principal Sandra Tee shared daily updates with students on the growing tally of bikes and scooters arriving at school.
"Students were really excited to watch the daily count grow as the week went by," said Sandra Tee. "We're all looking forward to taking part in this year's Bike to School Week from June 1 to June 5."
Bike to School Week is an annual celebration that encourages students of all ages to bike, roll, or walk to school. This helps to build healthy habits while also supporting environmental sustainability, safer streets, and stronger school communities.
