We are pleased to share an update on the construction of the six-classroom addition at St. Kateri Tekakwitha Catholic School. This project will support continued growth at our school and enhance learning spaces for students.
Project Overview
Construction is well underway on a new six-classroom addition located on the second level of the school. The addition is being built above the office and staff room area, as well as above two classrooms at the back of the school. There were a couple of significant delays related to weather and gas metering which extended the construction through to the end of this school year.
Once complete, the addition will accommodate 138 additional students, supporting the school's long-term capacity needs. The new classrooms are scheduled to open to students and staff in September 2026.
This school addition project is supported by $3.8 million in capital funding from the Government of Ontario, and we are grateful for their continued investment in Catholic education in Durham Region.
