HAMILTON-WENTWORTH DISTRICT SCHOOL BOARD
Introducing HWDSB's New Board and School Websites

May 19, 2026

We're excited to share that HWDSB's new Board website and new websites for all 93 elementary and secondary schools are now live!

These refreshed sites are designed to be easier to use, more accessible, and to help students, staff, families and community quickly find the information they need. This launch marks an important step in our ongoing efforts to strengthen how we share information, connect, and collaborate with communities across HWDSB.

Key features of the new websites include:

  • A clean, modern, and easy-to-navigate design

  • Improved accessibility for all users

  • A consistent look and experience across all HWDSB school and board websites

  • A "Report a Problem" feature to quickly flag information that may need updating

You may have noticed the transition happening gradually over the past few days. This was intentional and helped ensure a smooth launch and a seamless experience for everyone.

To help families and students quickly access their digital tools, we've added prominent boxes right on the home page. Students can visit their school's website and select "Student Tools", easily accessible from the school's home page.

Families can visit the board website, where a "Digital Tools for Families" box is featured directly on the home page for easy access. These shortcuts are designed to ensure the information you need is easy to find, right from the start.

We are deeply grateful to the students, staff, families, and community members who shared their voices, experiences, and insights with us. Your thoughtful input has helped us better understand what you need from HWDSB's websites and how we can strengthen the ways we communicate and connect. This important work reflects HWDSB's commitment to collaborating with students, families and communities as part of the Multi-Year Strategic Plan. The strong relationship between HWDSB, the families we serve, and our wider community is one grounded in trust, shared responsibility, and a collective commitment to student success.

The new look reflects HWDSB's strong and welcoming brand - Be You. Be Excellent. - with HWDSB students front and centre. Through photos and stories, the websites highlight important program information, student opportunities, extracurricular activities, learning supports, and so much more.

We hope you enjoy this new digital experience, which has been shaped by meaningful input from students, families, and staff. This collaboration strengthens our connection with families and reflects a shared commitment to student achievement, well-being, and belonging -  core to ensuring every student at HWDSB feels supported and valued.

Special thank you goes to Allison Reynolds, Senior Manager of Communications and Community Engagement and Carly Holmstead-Calder, Communications Officer, for their outstanding leadership of this complex and expansive project. If you have questions or feedback, please contact directly with Communications Department at communications@hwdsb.on.ca
