May 22, 2026

The Conseil des écoles catholiques du Centre-Est (CECCE) is proud to announce the launch of a new Dance Sport-Study Program at École secondaire catholique Paul-Desmarais, in partnership with École de Danse Louise. Offered beginning in the 2026-2027 school year, this program will allow students in grades 9 to 12 to balance their academic pathway with the development of their dance skills in a structured, engaging, and French-language environment.

Quick Facts

  • Through daily training sessions, students will have the opportunity to deepen their skills in various disciplines, including jazz, ballet, acro-dance, tap, stretching and strength training.
  • The program includes a variety of workshops designed to support students' overall development, including audition preparation, exploration of careers in dance, and concepts related to sport psychology.
  • École de Danse Louise is a well-known French-language institution in Stittsville and Orléans, supported by a team with more than 100 years of combined experience in dance styles ranging from ballet and contemporary dance to tap.

"The addition of the Dance Sport-Study Program at École secondaire catholique Paul-Desmarais reflects the CECCE's commitment to offering dynamic learning environments where students can fully thrive in French while pursuing their passions," says Diane Burns, CECCE school trustee.

"By continually diversifying its range of specialized programs, the CECCE ensures it is meeting the aspirations of a more significant number of students. This new partnership will allow young dance enthusiasts to develop their talent, discipline and confidence," adds Jolène Savoie-Day, also a school trustee.

"We are proud of this partnership, which places student well-being at the heart of their journey. We aim to offer a balance between athletics and academics so that student-athletes can pursue their sport with passion while continuing to excel in their educational journey," says Marc Bertrand, Director of Education.

"This is a unique opportunity to allow these young students to pursue their passion in a stimulating, structured environment focused on excellence. We are delighted with this partnership, which will provide students with quality coaching and conditions that support their development in dance. By earning school credits for their training, they will be better able to balance academic success with the demands of the competitive season," concludes Mélanie Bélair, Executive Director of the program at École de Danse Louise.
