June 12, 2026

Amanda Tischler has been selected as the new Principal of Harris-Tessier Central School (HTCS), bringing strong local connections, a broad range of classroom experience, and a clear commitment to student success.

"Amanda's strong educational background, leadership experience, and deep ties to the school community, makes her well positioned to lead HTCS and continue building a positive and engaging environment for students, staff, and families," explained Darryl Seguin, Sun West Director of Education.

Ms. Tischler holds a Bachelor of Secondary Education from the University of Saskatchewan and has recently been accepted into the University of Saskatchewan's Master of Education Administration program.

Ms. Tischler has worked as a primary and middle years teacher in several schools, including Elrose Composite, Lucky Lake, and Biggar Central School 2000. She was also a substitute teacher in Rosetown schools and gained valuable leadership experience as interim Principal of HTCS. Across these roles, she has developed strong skills in instructional planning, student assessment, and collaboration with staff, families, and community partners.

Ms. Tischler's background includes experience as an Educational Assistant that gives her a well-rounded understanding of the needs of students and the importance of teamwork in schools. Outside the classroom, she has coached sports teams and supported student well-being initiatives, including Mental Health First Aid.

Ms. Tischler's connection to HTCS is both professional and personal, making her return especially meaningful. As she shared, "I am excited for the opportunity to rejoin Harris-Tessier Central School as Principal, HTCS has played an important role in my educational journey from my time as an Educational Assistant and student teacher to serving as Interim Principal. What makes HTCS truly special is the strong sense of connection among its students, staff, and families, and I am grateful for the opportunity to be part of that community once again. I look forward to supporting and celebrating the great work happening in the school."
