Let's Talk Science and Logics Academy are continuing their longstanding partnership creating engaging, technology-driven STEM learning experiences for students. Tomatosphere Adventure in Minecraft, developed in collaboration with the Canadian Space Agency (CSA), offers "hands-on" opportunities for students to understand the essentials of plant biology and space science. This immersive digital experience, featuring avatars of CSA astronauts Joshua Kutryk and Jenni Gibbons, allows students to explore STEM concepts in an engaging and interactive format. With astronaut Joshua Kutryk scheduled to be aboard the International Space Station this fall and winter, a new opportunity to connect classrooms directly with the Canadian Space Agency has been developed. Educators who register for Let's Talk Science's Future of Food programs by October 19, including Tomatosphere Adventure in Minecraft, will have a chance to be selected for a special space-to-Earth connection with Joshua on December 2, 2026.
One school will be selected to host the national broadcast live from their school, giving those students the opportunity to ask Joshua questions while he is in orbit. Let's Talk Science staff and a team from the CSA will be onsite. Two additional classes will be selected to submit a pre-recorded student question for Joshua to answer during the broadcast.
The opportunity builds on the organizations' ongoing work to bring STEM learning to students in innovative and interactive ways.
