Superintendent of Education Deb Crawford named president of OCSOA at annual general meeting

Superintendent of Education Deb Crawford has been selected to lead the Ontario Catholic Supervisory Officers' Association (OCSOA) as the organization's president for 2016-2017.

Mrs. Crawford was chosen by her peers during OCSOA's Annual General Meeting in London last week.

"It is important that OCSOA's voice in support of Catholic education and Catholic educational leadership in Ontario is ardent, informed and united," says Mrs. Crawford.

"In the words of Pope Francis, we will ensure that our schools are doors of mercy, through which anyone who enters will experience the love of God, who consoles, pardons and instills hope.'"

Bishop Ronald Fabbro of the Diocese of London presided at a special Mass, at which Mrs. Crawford and the newly-chosen OCSOA Executive received a blessing and commissioning, in their important work in support of Catholic education in the province.

In addition, St. Clair Catholic's newly appointed Superintendents of Education, Laura Callaghan and Scott Johnson, also received a blessing and commissioning.

The Annual General Meeting also featured performances by the Ursuline College jazz band.

"The OCSOA AGM is always a tremendous celebration of the important work of Catholic education in our province," says Dan Parr, Director of Education.

"With the selection of Deb as the association's president, the commissioning of two of our new superintendents and the great performances of the UCC jazz band, it was also a celebration of St. Clair Catholic. I am proud of each of them!"
