Grande Yellowhead is pleased to welcome a new Director of Financial Services to the Business Services team as of July 1st, 2016, Jennifer Hendriks. She is the current Director of Finance for School District No. 42 in Maple Ridge, BC but is moving to Edson this summer due to her partner's job relocation.
"Jennifer's business and accounting experience at School District No. 42 will be invaluable to our team," said Juha Karén, the division's Assistant Superintendent of Business Services as of July, and its current Director of Financial Services. "Except for learning some different provincial regulations, her background should provide for a seamless integration into our department in working to ensure sound fiscal responsibility for our Board and its schools."
Ms. Hendriks received her Certified General Accountant (CGA) designation in 2014 but has worked in various management roles over nineteen years with School District No. 42 in the areas of accounting, internal audits, capital accounts and accounts payable/ receivable before becoming the district's Director of Finance in 2012.
"I am excited to continue working in the education sector where my knowledge and experience would allow me to make an immediate contribution," said Hendriks.
A noted fitness and equestrian enthusiast, she is looking forward to making her new home in Alberta and exploring its many outdoor opportunities.
