Two YCDSB students, Matthew Acheson from St. Maximilian Kolbe CHS in Aurora, and Jalena Lee from St. Robert CHS in Thornhill, were recently selected to be Global Vision Ambassadors as part of Junior Team Canada's Trade Mission to China.
Matthew and Jalena are among 40 Canadian youth who were selected following a nation-wide competition with hundreds of applicants, to represent their communities as ambassadors on the trade mission to China. The mission will take place from July 26th - August 13th and will provide Ambassadors with a chance to promote Canadian industries and culture to Chinese businesses, government, and community leaders. The goal of the trade mission is to make connections with communities and business sectors in Canada with potential partners in China. Global Vision is a charitable organization that runs the Junior Team Canada program. It engages enterprising young Canadians through education and hands-on experiences to develop as leaders that can and do make a difference in their communities, to Canada and the world. YCDSB congratulates Matthew and Jalena on being selected to represent Canada and wishes them luck on their upcoming trade trip.
