Students, teachers and staff at Central Colchester Junior High School (CCJHS) said farewell to two long-serving staff members at the end of the 2016-17 school year.
Karen Archibald and Linda Hepburn retired on June 30, saying an emotional goodbye to the friends and colleagues they worked alongside for so many years.
"We are all going to miss Karen and Linda. They were a big part of everybody's lives, both professionally and personally," said Chad MacPherson, Principal, CCJHS. "I want to wish them both a happy retirement - they've definitely earned it!"
Ms. Hepburn began working with the Chignecto-Central Regional School Board (CCRSB) as an educational assistant in May, 1971. Soon after she became the administrative assistant to the Assistant Superintendent at the school board's central office. Ms. Hepburn went on to work at all six elementary schools in the town of Truro.
In 1981, she moved to the Cobequid Educational Centre, where she worked until 2004 when she joined the team at CCJHS in Onslow.
Ms. Archibald started working with CCRSB as a casual administrative assistant 17 years ago, setting up shop in several schools in our system. She joined CCJHS in 2009 and remained there until her retirement.
Through the years, Ms. Hepburn and Ms. Archibald were valued members of the CCRSB community and they will be greatly missed.
