Coast Mountains School District is pleased to announce the appointment of Eric Gearey to the position of Principal at Ecole Mountainview and District French Immersion Coordinator effective September 1, 2017.
Eric currently holds the position of Intermediate French Immersion Teacher at Ecole Mountainview, a position he initially assumed in 2009 at the former Kiti K'Shan K-7 French Immersion School. He joined the school district in 2008 assuming the role of Intermediate Classroom Teacher at Cassie Hall Elementary School. Eric's previous experience includes an assignment with the University of Northern British Columbia as a visiting University Professor and a teaching position at Veritas Catholic School from 2002-2008 providing Core French, Technology and Physical Education.
Eric holds a Bachelor of Education Degree from McGill University and a Master of Educational Technology Degree from the University of British Columbia.
His enthusiasm and knowledge of Ecole Mountainview students and families, and his reputation as an outstanding and dedicated elementary educator with deep commitment to the success of young people at the school and community level, will serve Ecole Mountainview very well. He brings a wealth of teaching experience, skill and ability to his new position and to his responsibilities coordinating the school district's French Immersion Programs.
