Davie Jones student wins $1,000 scholarship

Davie Jones Elementary student Elizabeth Florence has won a $1,000 scholarship from HSBC Bank Canada and the Breakfast Club of Canada. 

The HSBC Future Leaders program recognizes inspiring students who are making a difference in their school and/or community.

"Elizabeth certainly exceeds the criteria for this award and we are thankful for her work around Davie Jones and in the community," said Dennis Tjernagel, principal of Davie Jones. "Congratulations Elizabeth - you are a current leader at the school and you deserve the award!"

Florence and a guest will be flown to Toronto in November to attend a scholarship award ceremony.
