We're pleased to announce that Marna Kenny has been appointed as LRSD's Secretary-Treasurer. We know everyone in the LRSD community joins with us in congratulating her on this promotion.
Marna will be a familiar face to many of you. She has been the Assistant Secretary-Treasurer since 2005 and took on the role of Acting Secretary-Treasurer in 2017.
Prior to LRSD, Marna worked in finance and human resources at the Winnipeg Regional Health Authority, Public Schools Finance Board and the Winnipeg Art Gallery. She is a Red River College graduate and has completed the Certified Management Accountant Professional Program.
If you've ever wondered what a school division Secretary-Treasurer does, here's a glimpse into Marna's responsibilities: annual audits and year-end reporting; budgeting work; supervisory role for clerical and technical staff; works with the divisional clerical CUPE group; and organizes clerical professional development.
In other words, while numbers may be a big part of her job, Marna is actively involved in the people side of work at LRSD!
