School District No. 92 (Nisga'a) is pleased to announce the appointment of Mr. James Blake, who is currently the District Counsellor for the school district, as Principal of Alvin A. McKay Elementary School commencing August 1, 2018.
Mr. Blake brings to the District over thirty years of experience in a variety of school settings including, classroom, alternate, and counseling. He brings a Master's Degree in Counseling to the position and many years of working with youth and adults at risk in both the public and private sector.
A passionate outdoorsman, as well as an experienced educator, Mr. Blake is keen to work with students, staff, parents and community to fully engage students in their learning. The District is pleased to have his leadership anchor the school as he joins the administrative team of the District.
Mr. Blake's intention is to live in, and become fully involved in the community of Laxgalts'ap. We hope you will all welcome him to his new position.
