LBPSB's LIFE (Learning Independence through Functional Education) program is kicking off the new school year with exciting new projects and friends.

Based out of Lindsay Place High School, the LIFE program includes students aged 18-21 with special needs who gain independent life skills through educational, functional, and social experiences.
A core component of LIFE's philosophy is allowing the students' personal interests to guide their learning. Over the past few years LIFE has developed a close relationship with Lindsay Place's own Mr. Hiotis who teaches woodworking. Through collaborative projects like making medals for the Pearson Family Fun Run and building and designing birdhouses, LIFE students can offer their skills and talents to the entire LBPSB community.
LIFE's network is continuing to grow. The students were welcomed back to a new year with a generous donation of wood from Home Depot in Pointe Claire. Home Depot's contribution will allow LIFE students to challenge themselves creatively, and give back all while doing what they love.
