Kiran Malk-Khan, Communications Manager, received her BRAVO! Award of Merit in Toronto, ON

The National BRAVO Award of Merit was bestowed upon Kiran Malik-Khan for her "Early Learning Open House Article Series" as a Traditional Communications Piece, sharing information and insights about the in-demand and ever-popular programs in the Fort McMurray Public School District. As an attendee of the conference, Malik-Khan was on site to receive her BRAVO Award. The BRAVO Awards Program is open to all current CACE members. To be eligible submissions must have been planned, produced and completed between January 1, 2017, and April 30, 2018.

Kiran is a passionate and dedicated communications professional who has been sharing the story of the Fort McMurray Public School District for the past three years. Doug Nicholls, Superintendent of Schools, acknowledges that Kiran is very deserving of this national recognition.

"Kiran is tremendously committed to our community and our District," he says. "She attends countless events in the Fort McMurray Public School District and Wood Buffalo region and can be counted on to keep the community informed of the many events and accomplishments being achieved. This national recognition is warranted for many, many reasons.  What a difference she makes in informing the community of our programs and the district's successes."

"It is an absolute honour to win the BRAVO Award from the Canadian Association of Communicators in Education (CACE). My thanks to CACE for the recognition and thanks to the school district for nominating me. It is a privilege to be able to tell our Fort McMurray Public School District stories throughout the year. I love my job, and am truly blessed to work for FMPSD," said Kiran Malik-Khan, Communications Manager, FMPSD.

"We are pleased to congratulate Kiran on her BRAVO Award," said Board Chair, Linda Mywaart. "She is truly a champion of students in the Fort McMurray Public School District, using her talent and words to craft creative, informative, and relevant messages for all to see and hear."

On behalf of all of us at Fort McMurray Public School District, Congratulations Kiran!
