At their annual organizational meeting held Saturday, December 8th, Conseil scolaire de district catholique des Aurores boréales (CSDCAB) trustees re-elected Sylvie Payeur as Chair of the Board.

This is the ninth term as Chair for Ms. Payeur who has represented the Longlac area for the past 22 years. Ms Gleeson, representing the Thunder Bay area was re-elected as Vice-Chair of the Board.
Ms. Payeur was honored by the show of confidence on Saturday: "After celebrating our School Board's 20th anniversary last year, I am confident that we will continue to work together in the years to come to ensure that our students become engaged and responsible citizens. We care about each and every one of our 832 students' well-being. I would like to take this opportunity to acknowledge everyone's commitment and would like to welcome the new trustees.''
Ms. Gleeson stated "With the well being of our students and staff in mind, we want to provide a safe and welcoming environment for all. There are many challenges ahead of us. I am grateful for the cooperation that exists amongst all the trustees which enables us to continue to provide quality French Catholic education in Northwestern Ontario."
We would like to welcome our newly elected trustees: Réal Deschatelets representing Schreiber and Terrace Bay, Elodie Grunerud for the Thunder Bay region and Micheline Lovenuk representing the region west of Thunder Bay.
The School Board trustees were sworn in by the Honourable Justice Chantal Brochu. Newly elected trustees serve a four-year mandate, whereas the Chair and Vice-Chair positions require yearly elections.
The trustees would like would like to recognise the departure of Mrs. Owca and Mr. Lorek, School Board trustees who were instrumental in the development of French-language Catholic education before the creation of our Board.
