As trustees prepare for some challenging decisions in the upcoming months, they need look no further than a group of St. Mary students for courage and inspiration.

Five students were recognized at the April 2nd Board Meeting for "decisive and courageous action." On April 2, five students from St. Mary Catholic Secondary School were recognized at the Committee of the Whole Meeting for taking "very decisive and courageous action to prevent what could have been a very serious and tragic outcome," commended Chairperson Patrick Daly.
Daly was referencing the students' quick action of March 18 when their bus driver experienced a medical event on the morning commute to school. The students not only steered the bus to safety, but contacted 9-1-1 and provided emergency First Aid.
Recognized were Aidan Gilmore, Logan McCorquodale, Rachel Watson, Keven Brennan and Kennedy Couture.
"They are not only great ambassadors for St. Mary's but as well for our entire school system," thanked Daly.
