School District #54 (Bulkley Valley) is pleased to announce the appointment of Ms. Cynthia (Cindy) Miller to the position of District Principal of Learner Support Services.
Ms. Miller holds an Associate Arts Degree through the College of New Caledonia, completed her Professional Development Program (PDP) through Simon Fraser University and holds a Certificate in Educational Leadership through Victoria Island University. Ms. Miller will also be graduating in June 2019 with her Master of Education in Educational Leadership through the Victoria Island University.
Ms. Miller came to SD54 in 2013 from Fort St. James Secondary School where she worked as Department head and taught English, Social Studies, Literacy and Math. Since coming to Smithers she has held the position of Vice-Principal of Smithers Secondary School, where one of her main responsibilities was managing the Learner Support Department.
Ms. Miller is a life longer learner with a strong belief in the right of all children to receive their education with their peers to the greatest extent possible. With her demonstrated leadership in the district we look forward to working with Ms. Miller in her new position as District Principal of Learner Support Services.
