We are pleased to announce the appointment of Melissa Boyle-White as a Mental Health Therapist in Fort Vermilion and Rocky Lane schools. Melissa joined FVSD in 2017 as a Student Wellness Coach at Florence MacDougall Community School. Melissa obtained her Masters in Counselling Psychology in 2016.
"I am beyond excited to step into the new role of Mental Health Therapist for Fort Vermilion Public, St. Mary's Elementary and Rocky Lane Schools. Working with the Florence MacDougall's family and the High Level Mental Health Capacity Building team for the past 2 years, I've collected moments of joy that will last a lifetime. The opportunity to support and learn alongside the community where I live and love is so exciting and I am so filled with gratitude.
A growth mindset and perspective taking are the 2 values I hold closest to my heart and will bring with me into this role.
I recently read that when you replace 'I' with 'We' illness becomes wellness, and I don't think there are better words to describe how passionate I am about mental health supports, shared human experience, and connectivity."
