In this position, Haarmann will supervise and support the board's 13 superintendents of education and the superintendent of leadership development and school support services to implement board policies, programs and initiatives. "Mark is a collaborative leader who builds consensus and inspires leadership within the organization," says Chair of the Board Stan Cameron. Dowling retires July 31, 2019. She has served as associate director of student support services since Aug. 1, 2017. Says Cameron, "During her 31 years with the Peel board, Wendy has modelled our character attributes and has been a tireless supporter of student success. Her passion for learning and leadership has positively impacted thousands of students, families and staff members," notes Cameron. "Her many contributions and exemplary service are truly appreciated. We wish her all our very best in retirement."
