This past school year, Ophea Healthy Schools Certification launched across Ontario. The certification recognizes and celebrates school communities for promoting and enhancing the health and well-being of students, school staff, and the broader community. Participating schools across Ontario completed the 6-Step Healthy Schools Process, which aligns with the Ministry of Education's Foundations for a Healthy School resource.
The Gold certification was earned with the help of the 'Longhorns for Wellness' student group, Social Workers, Child and Youth Counsellors, physical education staff, Catholic School Council members and the school's Public Health Nurse.
A special shout-out goes to Holy Rosary (Milton) , Sacred Heart of Jesus, and St. Gabriel Catholic Elementary Schools for achieving Silver certification. Thank you to our Catholic school communities as they commit each day to educating the whole child - body, mind and spirit!
