PEACE RIVER SCHOOL DIVISION
New Principal at Bear Canyon Colony

September 9, 2019

Peace River School Division is pleased to announce the appointment of Moses Garaba as Principal of Bear Canyon Colony School for the 2019-2020 school year.

Moses brings a wealth of educational and administration experience to the Bear Canyon Colony School. Most recently, Moses was a mentor teacher in Zambia where he was responsible to eight primary schools and for creating strategies for teachers to use when teaching literacy and numeracy. Moses was also a principal of three outreach schools within the High Prairie School Division between 2015 and 2017. Between 2010 and 2015 Moses taught at the Breaking Point Colony School where he was responsible for student education from Grades 4 to 12. Then Moses moved into the principalship at Dixonville School where he inspired students to strive for academic success.

His academic qualifications include graduate studies in Curriculum & Instruction at the University of Manitoba, Post Baccalaureate Certificate in Special Education at the University of Manitoba, Bachelor of Science in chemistry and a Bachelor of Education at the University of Winnipeg. Moses also holds a graduate studies equivalent in chemical engineering from Frankfurt am Main in Germany, along with a Manitoba Education School Leadership Certificate from Manitoba.

It is evident from Moses's experience that he has a passion for education. I look forward to working with Moses in this role and I am confident that Bear Canyon Colony School and the Division will benefit from his knowledge and experience.
