Bob Bayles, Deputy Director of People and Finance, CFO of Prairie Spirit School Division, was awarded the 2019 Distinguished Career Award by the Saskatchewan chapter of CPHR, the Chartered Professionals in Human Resources.

This award is presented to a CPHR Saskatchewan member who has made a significant contribution to the advancement of the HR profession in their organization and beyond.
The award recognizes Bayles' collaborative leadership work within the school division and the HR community in Saskatchewan and Canada. His support for other HR professionals was highlighted in his nomination by Noel Roche, CPHR, Deputy Director at Prairie Spirit School Division.
"Bob holds people up with deep respect, care and compassion while unapologetically leading required change," said Lori Jeschke, Prairie Spirit's Director of Education, in her support of the nomination. Jeschke also highlighted Bayles' leadership in creating a multi-year strategic plan for the HR department which guides the school division.
Bayles has been a senior leader in a variety of organizations for over 20 years. He joined Prairie Spirit School Division in 2011, following his work as a Director in Human Resources at the University of Saskatchewan.
In addition to his work in Prairie Spirit, he is also a Professor at the University of Saskatchewan, as an instructor in the Edwards School of Business MBA program and in graduate courses in leadership and Human Resources in the College of Education, Educational Administration. Bayles is a consummate life-long learner and is currently a Ph.D. candidate in Educational Administration at the University of Saskatchewan.
He has served in a variety of roles in the HR field, including President of CPHR Saskatchewan, Director on the national CPHR board, on the advisory committee of the Canadian Industrial Relations Association SK, and participated in the national task force for the creation of the Senior HR Designation in 2009.
The award was presented at the CPHR annual meeting in Saskatoon on October 1.
