Bernie Howe, a Prairie Spirit Board of Education Trustee, was awarded a Life Membership in the Saskatchewan School Boards Association (SSBA) at its annual general meeting in Regina on November 18.
"I am very honoured to receive a Life Membership in the SSBA," Howe said. "I consider it a privilege to serve our students and our communities as a Trustee, supporting education and community wellness."
This award is given to individuals who have served on the SSBA's provincial executive. Howe served on the SSBA Provincial Executive from 1996 - 2000 as the North Central Branch representative.
Howe has served as a Board of Education Trustee since 1991, representing Delisle, Vanscoy, Perdue, Pike Lake and Willow Park Hutterite Colony. Prior to the formation of Prairie Spirit School Division through the amalgamation of three school divisions in 2006, he was a Trustee for the Saskatoon West School Division, where he served as Board Chair.
