Spinelli group donated a 2012 Nissan Leaf, an electric vehicle, to the West Island Career Centre's automobile mechanics program. In honour of this much-needed teaching tool, students and staff held a special appreciation ceremony for Spinelli and Nissan Canada representatives. Centre Director, Jad Deegan, thanked both companies for the kind support.
The electric vehicle will give students an opportunity to work on state-of-the-art technology. Between 120 and 150 students are enrolled in the Automobile Mechanics program.
West Island Career Centre (WICC) offers students educational opportunities in the fields of automobile mechanics, business, and health. Students enrolled in WICC programs receive the skills necessary to enter the workplace and are taught by teachers who have worked in industry. Programs are a mix of theory and practical studies with a focus on the application of real-world skills.
