Since they couldn't host a traditional ceremony this year because of the pandemic, teachers at Cathedral High School got together to plan a special surprise for students graduating this year.
While it wasn't the celebration they imagined, the special gesture brought some students to tears.
"I think a lot of them are sad that they don't have this opportunity to celebrate with their friends. Hopefully this is one little way we can make them smile for a bit," said teacher Matt Trabucco. Trabucco came up with the idea for the lawn and window signs after seeing them used by schools in the U.S.
CHCH's Kelly Botelho joined 40 teachers on May 21 as they visited 250 graduating students.
