In 2020, the Vancouver School Board requested that a review of the School Liaison Officer (SLO) program be completed to inform the Board in making decisions as to the future of the program in Vancouver schools.
Trustees were very interested in hearing from VSB students and, in particular, the voices and perspectives of students with lived experience with the program and of students who identify as being part of the BIPOC communities.
The report, received by the Policy and Governance Committee on March 3, 2021, includes recommendations heard from participants. Trustees will take the time to fully review all the findings and consider the feedback in advance of making suggestions and recommendations regarding the SLO program at the April 26 Board meeting.
