Education and learning are essential today (April 7) and a strong strategic plan is critical to declaring the priorities and goals of the District for 2022-2026.
Trustees of the Vancouver School Board are looking to build and expand on the earlier work of the District for the benefit of its students and will work with an external consultant to create and lead an engagement process for its new strategic plan.
Involving staff, students, employee groups, partners, local First Nations councils, Indigenous stakeholders and community members will ensure long and short-term objectives are reflective of the District's diverse school communities.
The Board invited proposals from contractors to assist in this important work through a comprehensive Request for Proposal (RFP) process. The request was posted on the BC Bid website and closed March 3, 2021. The contract was awarded to Directions - a BC-based consultancy with a proven track record - on March 17, 2020. Initial meetings are underway with Directions as they prepare for an inclusive engagement process which will help develop the new strategic plan.
