2020 Excellence in Education Awards recipients announced (anglophone sector)

Ten educators in the anglophone sector are being recognized for their outstanding work by receiving Excellence in Education Awards.

"It's a great honour to recognize these 10 educators for their determination, passion and incredible dedication to fostering a positive learning environment," said Education and Early Childhood Development Minister Dominic Cardy. "Their commitment to excellence is particularly inspirational during the challenging times we are living due to the COVID-19 pandemic."

The following educators are received awards on Saturday, April 24 through a virtual ceremony:

Anglophone North School District:

  • Krista Page, Max Aitken Academy, Miramichi
  • Lori Johnson, Dalhousie Regional High School

Anglophone South School District:

  • Bridget Miller, Quispamsis Middle School
  • Emily Somers, St. Stephen High School
  • Scott Legge, St. Stephen High School

Anglophone East School District:

  • Karen Baggs, Sunny Brae Middle School, Moncton
  • Margo Belliveau, Bernice MacNaughton High School, Moncton

Anglophone West School District:

  • April-Dawn Lanteigne, Sunbury West School, Fredericton Junction
  • Holly Brown, Tiny Bubbles Early Learning Centre, Fredericton
  • Tracy Graham, Nackawic High School

The awards recognize those who have shown exceptional dedication, ingenuity, leadership, passion and professionalism in the education and early learning systems. They also highlight the success of innovative methods of fostering the development of young children and students, exceptional efforts to promote a positive learning environment and initiatives to support students with difficulties.
